School choice forms and policies, including the online application, must be available on education websites. This requirement covers every reorganized district, vocational-technical district, charter school, and the Delaware Department of Education. Families considering school choice can find the program’s application materials and rules on these sites.
Delaware’s education department must publish public school reports by August 1 each year. The first report deadline was August 15, 2003. Reports cover every public school, including charter schools, reorganized districts, and vocational-technical districts, plus statewide results. They include enrollment, achievement, accountability, health and wellness, safety, discipline, attendance, staffing ratios, and student and staff demographics. They also cover school finances, taxes, curriculum, high school career pathways, parent and community involvement, and Title IX coordinators’ roles and contact details. Reports must track education goals and support fair comparisons using accurate, reliable data adjusted for meaningful comparisons. National, regional, and other-state comparisons are required when informative and practical. Reports must be easy to use, with links on the department’s homepage and school choice website.
