Out-of-state protection orders trigger weapon bans

Delaware extends its weapon ban to people under qualifying domestic violence protection orders from other states or territories. They cannot buy, own, possess, or control deadly weapons or firearm ammunition. The order must itself ban that conduct or meet the federal standard in 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8). This extension excludes contested orders issued solely under Title 10, § 1041(1)d., e., or i., or combinations of those grounds. The existing ban remains for people who know they are under a Family Court protection from abuse order, while that order remains in effect.
