More work vehicles can use green lights

Delaware expands which vehicles can carry revolving or flashing green lights, including truck tractors, off-highway vehicles, farm tractors, and specialized construction equipment. Eligible vehicles include those used by fire or police departments. Public agency and public service company vehicles also qualify when Delaware’s safety secretary designates or authorizes them as emergency vehicles. Vehicles used for road or bridge work, traffic control, emergency operations, or bad-weather operations also qualify, replacing the snow-removal-only allowance. Green lights may be used only in three situations: marking a command post at an accident, fire, or disaster scene for reporting to fire or police officials; traveling to such a scene as a hazardous materials response vehicle at a fire or police department’s request; or actively performing the listed work or operations.
