Delaware ends autism registry and deletes records

The law ends Delaware’s autism registry and the state’s authority to run it under this program. Doctors, dentists, podiatrists, hospitals, and laboratories no longer face the program’s reporting duties or $100-per-violation fines. The Department of Health and Social Services must delete all individual protected health information collected through the program within six months of enactment. It must follow existing state health privacy rules. The Department may keep only aggregate data, not individual protected health information.
