Judges direct handling of crime proceeds

A Delaware Superior Court judge directs how property from a crime, including assets traced to crime proceeds, is handled. This applies when responsible people cannot be identified or located after reasonable efforts. It also applies when those people are outside the United States. The rule does not guarantee households a payment or set a fixed payout formula.

Virtual currency faces search and seizure

Delaware law explicitly includes virtual currency in the property covered by its search-and-seizure rules. Law enforcement can search for and seize virtual currency using those existing rules. This affects people whose virtual currency is involved in a lawful search or seizure.
