Current or prospective Delaware Auditor contractors need criminal background checks when they need access to State agency systems, facilities, or data marked by the Auditor for screening. Possible future access alone no longer requires a check. Current employees and contractors must send required information to the State Bureau of Identification within 30 days of receiving the Auditor’s written request. The Bureau sends covered background information directly to the Auditor, rather than the Auditor’s designee. The Auditor can review and use these records for employment or continued-access decisions, but only as allowed by law.
