Privacy protections for adults and children

Delaware law-enforcement agencies generally cannot publicly release names or photos of people arrested or suspected of crimes or delinquent acts. Agencies also cannot arrange for others to release this information. For children age 17 or younger, release requires a violent felony charge and a need to protect public safety. For adults, release requires suspicion of or charges for a felony and a need to protect public safety. These limits cover mugshots and posts on publicly maintained social media pages or websites.
