Play-based learning encouraged for young students

The law creates Delaware's Play to Learn Program for public-school students from prekindergarten through second grade. It encourages daily learning through play, including movement, art, music, exploration, and reading for pleasure. Local education agencies may offer ongoing training for teachers, administrators, and other early childhood educators. Neither play-based teaching nor this training is required. Delaware's Department of Education can issue rules to carry out the law.
