Stronger Delaware voter protections and felony penalties

Delaware law bans specified acts done with intent to block or interfere with an election. These include violence, threats of violence, and breaches of the peace at or near voting and vote-handling sites. Covered sites include polling places, Department of Elections offices, Board of Canvass meetings, and anywhere votes are cast, stored, read, or counted. The law also bans hindering, controlling, coercing, or intimidating qualified voters exercising their right to vote, including attempts. These rules apply on election day, during early in-person voting, and while votes are read or counted. Violations are Class G felonies, replacing penalties of up to $200 in fines, two years in prison, or both.
