Delaware collects protected health workforce data

Delaware's Division of Professional Regulation must work with licensing and health agencies to identify and collect workforce data during licensing and renewal. Covered fields include medicine, nursing, dentistry, mental health, pharmacy, funeral services, massage, and veterinary medicine. Public Health and the Delaware Health Care Commission can receive electronically stored licensing data and share it with contractors for approved work. Approved uses include studying worker supply, demand, locations, and use; tracking federal shortage, maternity-care, and underserved-area initiatives; and guiding policy. Individual records are confidential, and employees and contractors may use them only for authorized state workforce and related program work. Workforce research and planning data cannot include home addresses or personal financial information.
