Faster court access to a child's digital accounts

The law sets a 60-day deadline for a custodian to honor a valid written request to access a deceased person’s digital accounts. If the custodian does not comply, the fiduciary can ask the Delaware Court of Chancery to order access. When the fiduciary is a parent or legal guardian and the account holder is a deceased minor, the Court must treat the case as expedited. The Court aims to decide within 30 days after the application is filed.
