Public officers: online filing and deadlines

Public officers must file financial disclosure reports online in the Commission’s database. You must also verify the report electronically. File your first report within 14 days after you become a public officer. Then file each year on or before the third Wednesday of March. File the report with the Commission.

What public officers must disclose

Your report must list your name and position. List any business you own worth over $5,000, or that paid you over $5,000 last year or is expected this year. Include the business name, what you own, and any management roles. Do not list regular bank deposits or fixed‑rate debts unless they can convert to stock. List any professional practice or organization where you are a sole practitioner, officer, director, partner, adviser, or control it, if it paid over $5,000 last year or is expected this year, with its name, address, and type of practice. If already listed as a business above, you do not need to repeat it here. List the source for: pay for services over $1,000 from one source; capital gains over $1,000 from one source (not the sale of your home you live in); reimbursements over $1,000 from one source; any honoraria; and any gift over $250, and state the gift amount. You may rely on the giver’s stated value for a gift. List each creditor you owed more than $1,000 for at least 90 straight days in the prior year. Include a signed certification that your report is true, correct, and complete, and that you have not and will not move assets to hide them while keeping an interest.
