Farmers get more public farmland lease notices

Delaware and its local governments must notify the Delaware Farm Bureau, or its successor, when seeking farmland lease bids. The Bureau receives these notices to share with farmers or make available to them. This covers short-term and long-term leases of government-owned land of at least 10 acres used or intended for farming. These notices are required in addition to other notices required by law. The new rule does not apply when an existing lease is renewed with the same tenant.
