More open bidding for state farm leases

The law defines which parcels are covered: 10 acres or more, owned by the State or a local government, and used or meant for farming. When bids are sought to lease this land, the State or local government must send the bid notice to the Delaware Farm Bureau to share with farmers. This notice is in addition to other required public bidding notices and applies to short- or long-term leases. The rule does not apply when the same tenant renews an existing lease. Parcels under 10 acres are not covered.
