Delaware local governments gain deposit options

Delaware counties can deposit public money in credit unions, as well as banks, at the county seat. County tax and finance officials must still deposit all public money within 3 days, credited to the county. Funds stay deposited unless the county government approves investing idle or surplus money under county investment law, pays legal demands, or transfers funds to a successor. Municipalities can deposit any revenue in any bank or credit union. This municipal authority overrides conflicting state laws or municipal charter rules.
