Bigger workplace safety insurance credits for employers

Qualifying Delaware employers get a larger workplace safety credit on workers’ compensation insurance. The formula increases from 20% × (1.0000 − C) to 40% × (1.0000 − C). C is the employer’s credibility value under the uniform experience rating plan for the policy period immediately before the credit applies. The Insurance Commissioner sets C by regulation for employers not experience-rated during that period. Credit packages are rounded to the nearest whole percent. The change applies to safety credit calculations communicated by the Department of Insurance on or after December 1, 2026.
