Stronger consumer protections after purchases in Delaware

Delaware’s Consumer Fraud Act now covers unfair or deceptive conduct before, during, or after a transaction. The conduct must be tied to the sale, lease, receipt, or advertising of merchandise. Examples include false or threatening landlord messages, unfair debt collection tactics, and broken promises to repair returned merchandise. Delaware’s Department of Justice can enforce these protections against misconduct after a transaction ends.
