Emergency workers qualify for driving exemptions

Delaware exempts essential personnel and qualifying broadcast workers from Level 2 and Level 3 emergency driving restrictions. Essential personnel are workers needed to keep core government functions running or protect people's health and safety. They include public or private workers providing public utility, health-care, emergency broadcasting, or food and fuel delivery services. Qualifying broadcast workers, called first informers, are engineers or on-air employees of federally licensed radio or television stations. They must broadcast or maintain, operate, or repair station equipment, transmitters, receivers, repeaters, or generators.
