More safeguards for notary and immigration customers

Beginning July 1, 2025, notaries who advertise in another language must include a clear warning in English and that language. They cannot translate “Notary Public” literally or use titles suggesting immigration-law skills unless authorized to represent people in immigration matters. Immigration service providers who are not licensed Florida attorneys or otherwise allowed under federal law must post warnings on their main website and at their business, in English and every language they use. People harmed by violations can seek a court order, actual damages, and reasonable attorney fees and costs; the law sets no fixed damages amount.
