Starting January 1, 2026, Florida state employee health plans cannot charge cost-sharing for covered diagnostic or supplemental breast exams. Diagnostic exams evaluate an abnormality seen or suspected during screening. Supplemental exams screen people with risk factors when no abnormality is suspected. Both types must follow current cancer-care guidelines and use specified imaging. If removing cost-sharing would make someone in an HSA-qualified high-deductible plan ineligible for a health savings account, the plan deductible can apply until the federal minimum is met. Federal preventive-care rules still apply before then.
