Starting July 1, 2026, Hawaii public and charter school teachers have a path to annual and longevity pay increases. An annual increase can follow one year of satisfactory service; a longevity increase can follow three years at the maximum pay step or a longevity step. The increases must be negotiated into a labor agreement, and the Legislature must approve enough money to fund it. The law does not set an increase amount.
