Farmers decide livestock and poultry care

If you own livestock or poultry in Kentucky, you alone decide on-farm animal health and production practices. You may consult a veterinarian or other professional, but you do not have to. This rule does not apply to horses or equine operations. It overrides other state laws on these decisions, and state and federal officials still do their official duties.
