2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Stricter secrecy and penalties for grand juries

At any Kentucky grand jury, you may not record testimony or evidence. You also may not share anything you saw, read, or heard there, unless the criminal rules allow it. This does not apply to a Commonwealth’s attorney, that office’s staff, or a peace officer on duty. Recording is a Class A misdemeanor. Disclosing grand jury information is a Class D felony, and public servants face one class higher.

Stronger penalties for jury-duty violations

Employers who break Kentucky’s jury-duty rules in KRS 29A.160(1) or (2) commit a Class B misdemeanor. Any willful violation of KRS 29A.010 to 29A.330 without another listed penalty is a Class A misdemeanor. These rules protect people who serve on juries and strengthen enforcement.
