Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 4 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Faster refunds and tip handling at parks

Each state park can keep cash on site to refund unearned money you paid right away. Parks can also take tips and send them straight to the named worker. The Department of Parks and the Finance and Administration Cabinet set rules for these funds.

Free green fees for PGA HOPE graduates

If you are a PGA HOPE graduate, you and one guest do not pay green fees at state park golf courses. Show your valid PGA HOPE graduate card at purchase. You still pay golf cart rental fees.

No launch fees at state park ramps

The Department of Parks cannot charge a boat launching fee at ramps it controls. Anyone leasing or running those ramps under a department contract cannot charge a launch fee either. This rule only covers ramps under the department’s authority or agreements.

Parks can accept outside grants

The Department of Parks can accept federal and other grants and contributions. The money goes into a state trust and agency fund under KRS 45.253. This helps pay for park operations.
