SNAP job training and food incentives

The cabinet creates new SNAP Employment and Training programs. Services include job readiness, job training, work‑based learning, and one‑on‑one employment planning. Partnerships support healthy workforce habits and include food incentives to boost purchases of nutritious foods at work and at home. Case management and employment navigation are provided. The state can use federal SNAP matching funds when allowed. The cabinet must seek needed federal approvals and file a SNAP E&T state plan amendment by December 1, 2026. Each year, the cabinet reports to lawmakers on participation, jobs, healthy workforce outcomes, federal fund drawdowns, and program impacts.

New work program for cash assistance families

Kentucky sets up a state work program for families on cash assistance. The secretary issues rules to run it. The goal is immediate work or preparation for work, with self‑sufficiency as the main goal. Participants are responsible for working toward that goal. The cabinet works with you to assess your strengths and needs and provides supports like case management and job navigation.
