More Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System (LASERS) retirees can keep their pensions while working in governor-appointed unclassified civil service jobs. The law lowers the required service credit from 30 years to 25 years. Retirees still must have been retired for at least one year and qualify for a full retirement benefit. Their pension payments continue without an increase, suspension, or reduction during reemployment.
