Louisiana bans betting on elections

The law bans knowingly, willfully, or intentionally joining bets tied to elections governed by Louisiana’s election code. This covers bets on election results or other events arising from those elections. People cannot offer or accept these bets, take a share or money interest, or fund someone else’s bet. The ban also covers any other way of becoming part of the bet.
