Reimbursement for former Whately water customers

The district board can sell any district property. Money from those sales must reimburse customers who left the district’s wells and connected to Town of Whately water. If you were on the district’s wells and are now on town water, you can get a one-time payment for your connection costs. The law does not set amounts; payments depend on the sale proceeds.

Whately Water District dissolves after sale

The Whately Water District and its board are dissolved. Commissioners’ terms end on that date. This only happens after the district sells all real estate and distributes the sale money as reimbursements under this law. Until then, the board stays in place to finish the sale and payments.
