Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

Scholarships for Conway graduating seniors

After paying festival costs, the committee can use the remaining net balance for scholarships. Awards go to graduating high school seniors who live in Conway, to further education or training. The committee decides who gets help and how much. Money from local appropriations cannot be used for scholarships.

Conway festival fund and spending rules

The town can set up a special fund for Festival of the Hills money. It can hold festival receipts, state or federal grants, and local appropriations. Any money left at year-end stays in the fund for future use. The interest the fund earns goes to the town’s general fund, not the festival fund. The festival committee can pay festival costs directly from the fund without another town appropriation.
