Steven A. Hilliger can keep serving as a Lancaster firefighter until he turns 70, retires, or the Fire Chief relieves him. He must be mentally and physically able to do the job; the Select Board can require an exam by an impartial doctor, and the board pays. After age 65, no pension deductions are taken from his pay. When he retires, his pension is figured as if he retired at 65, if any. This law takes effect upon passage and applies only to him.
