Leo MacAskill can reapply for injury retirement

Retired Revere police officer Leo MacAskill can reapply for retirement benefits despite conflicting state laws. The Revere retirement board must determine whether he retired because of a violent act injury. If it makes that finding, all benefits paid afterward must follow the violent act injury retirement rules amended in 2024. This exception applies only to MacAskill. The law took effect upon passage.
