Alternates added to Becket conservation commission

The law lets Becket’s select board appoint up to two alternate members to the conservation commission. Alternates serve staggered terms up to three years. The commission chair can seat an alternate when a member is absent, unable to act, has a conflict, or there is a vacancy. An alternate may serve until the vacancy is filled under section 8C of chapter 40. The law takes effect upon passage.
