Lanesborough expands board, sets staggered terms

The law increases the Lanesborough Select Board from 3 to 5 members. Each year after the Town Election, the board elects a chair. At the first Annual Town Election after passage, voters choose three members with staggered terms. The top vote-getter serves 3 years, the second serves 2 years, and the third serves 1 year. After that, each seat is elected to a 3-year term as it expires. The act takes effect upon passage.
