Weston vote on five-member select board

The law lets Weston move to a five-member select board that serves as the town’s chief executive and policy body. Members serve 3-year terms, with about one-third of seats ending each year. The town must hold a special election at least 35 days after the law takes effect, with a ballot summary from town counsel approved by the select board. If most voters say yes, the change takes effect and the 2026 ballot lists two new offices: one 3-year and one 2-year, alongside the existing 3-year seat. Voters will “vote for 3”; the top two finishers get 3-year terms, and the next highest gets 2 years.
