Milford town meeting candidates face filing rules
Milford town meeting candidates must file nomination papers with the town clerk at least 35 days before the election. Papers need signatures from at least 10 voters in the candidate’s precinct. They must include the candidate’s written acceptance when filed and cannot show a political designation. Eligible current members can instead give the clerk written notice at least 30 days before the election. This option covers reelection in the same precinct where the member lives. It excludes members who changed precincts, were removed through redistricting, or filled a vacancy. These rules took effect upon passage.
