Haverhill officials barred from double city jobs
The law bans anyone from serving as Mayor, City Councilor, or School Committee member while also holding another City office. It also bans those offices while in any paid City job funded by the City treasury. A City Councilor acting as Mayor is allowed. The law takes effect upon passage. It applies to Haverhill elections beginning with the 2025 biennial municipal election.
