Moderator appoints finance and appeals boards

Unless a town by-law says otherwise, the moderator appoints Holden’s finance committee and the board of appeals. Town by-laws can change who makes these appointments.

Three-year term for Holden moderator

Upon passage, the current moderator keeps serving the rest of their elected term, unless they resign, retire, or are removed. Beginning with the first annual town election after Holden accepts this act, voters elect a moderator to a three-year term. After that, all moderators serve three-year terms at future annual elections.
