Cambridge can mail tickets and use cameras

The city can mail a parking ticket if it is not safe or possible to leave one on the car. It must mail the notice within 10 days, not counting Sundays and holidays, to the address on the vehicle’s registration (or the out of state record). Photos or data from automated license plate cameras count as the city’s knowledge to issue a ticket. Camera-based tickets must follow the same mailing rules. Every notice must include evidence, like a photo, monitoring data, or officer notes, and a certificate of mailing counts as proof it was sent.
