Rochester fire chief works to 70, pension fixed

This law takes effect upon passage. Scott Weigel can keep serving as Rochester’s fire chief until he turns 70, if he stays mentally and physically able. The town can require a yearly exam by an impartial doctor it chooses, and it pays for the exam. After he turns 65, no pension deductions are taken from his pay. When he retires, his pension equals what it would have been at age 65, even if he worked longer.
