Mattapoisett Select Board grows to five

The law increases Mattapoisett’s Select Board from three to five members. The board elects a chair each year from its members. The act takes effect upon passage. At the first Annual Town Election after passage, three members are elected. The top vote-getter serves three years, the second serves two years, and the third serves one year. After that, each seat is for a three-year term.
