Agawam voters decide zoning appeals board

The law puts a charter question on Agawam’s 2025 regular election ballot. Voters see the printed question and a short summary from the city solicitor, prepared at least 60 days before the vote. If a majority votes yes, the charter immediately deletes the Board of Appeals subsection. The City Council and Mayor must then set up a zoning board of appeals by ordinance, consistent with Massachusetts state zoning law.
