Nantucket County can transfer School Street

The law allows Nantucket County to transfer School Street to the town of Nantucket. The land is identified in a May 26, 1981 plan recorded in Nantucket County Registry of Deeds Plan Book 12-C-1. The town’s Select Board sets the terms, including any restrictions or rights to use the land shown on the town clerk’s map. Chapter 30B requirements and Chapter 34, Section 14 rights to buy the property first do not apply. The law takes effect upon passage and sets no purchase price or direct household financial benefit.
