Group 2 retirement for Beverly alarm operators

Beverly's retirement board must give Group 2 retirement status to city fire alarm operators hired on or before January 26, 2006. These employees remain covered after transferring to the city's public safety telecommunicator job, also called joint civilian dispatcher. This requirement overrides conflicting state laws. The law took effect upon passage. It sets retirement status but does not state pension amounts or create new funding.
