Blue envelope help for drivers with autism

Beginning July 1, 2026, Massachusetts creates a blue envelope program for drivers with autism. The State Police, with the RMV, police chiefs, and autism advocates, design an envelope with tips on the outside and instructions to clip it to the driver’s sun visor. The envelope holds your license and registration. The RMV gives it on request to a person with autism or that person’s parent or guardian; the law does not state a fee. Police training includes how to use the envelope and is offered to all officers at least every five years.
