Medfield deputy chief keeps working longer

David O’Toole can continue as Medfield’s deputy fire chief after age 65, while mentally and physically able to do the job. His service ends when he reaches age 70, retires, or the Select Board relieves him of his duties, whichever comes first. The board may require yearly exams by its chosen doctor, paid for by the town. After age 65, the town makes no further pension deductions from his regular pay, but his retirement allowance is fixed at what he would have received by retiring at age 65.
