Earlier payouts from public campaign fund

The State Board of Elections can start Fair Campaign Financing Fund distributions earlier. The earliest start is July 1 of the year before the election. The Board must first certify that a candidate meets the program’s qualification rules. Beginning July 1, 2026, this timing applies.

New January filing rules for campaigns

The law moves the annual January campaign finance report to the fourth Wednesday in January. It applies to campaign finance entities and to continuing political committees each year they exist. The January report must include activity through the 14th day before it is due. Beginning July 1, 2026, these rules apply.
