Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Address privacy program for survivors

Beginning June 1, 2026, the Secretary of State runs an Address Confidentiality Program. Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, or human trafficking can apply. If accepted, you get a substitute mailing address to help hide your home location.

Voting uses real address, limits sharing

Beginning June 1, 2026, local election boards use your real home address for all voting tasks, including mail-in ballots. You cannot use the substitute address to register to vote. Local boards may not share your address with the public, unless law enforcement requests it for a case or a court orders release.

Elections contact and rules for program

Beginning June 1, 2026, the State Board of Elections names a contact person for the Address Confidentiality Program. That person answers questions from local boards and program participants. The Board can also set rules so elections staff apply the law the same way statewide.
