No forced dealership upgrades or tie-ins

Beginning Oct 1, 2026, manufacturers cannot require a dealer to alter or replace its existing facility. They also cannot deny or threaten to deny general benefits because a dealer will not change its building. This does not apply if the dealer broke a state or local public‑protection law. Makers also may not tie lower vehicle prices or different financing to a dealer keeping an exclusive facility, building or altering a facility, or joining a floor‑plan or other financing program.

Same rebates for all car dealers

Beginning Oct 1, 2026, manufacturers must offer the same rebates, incentives, price cuts, and finance terms to all dealers of the same line make. If a dealer is denied these benefits for not meeting performance standards, the manufacturer must prove its standards comply with the law. This helps keep pricing offers consistent across dealers.

Clear rules for dealer price ads

Beginning Oct 1, 2026, a manufacturer cannot punish a dealer for saying on its website that an advertised price is the maker’s minimum and that the dealer may sell for less. This protection does not apply if the dealer violates the State ban on false or sham ads or other public‑protection laws. Dealers also may not use any ad that is false, deceptive, or misleading, or offer a vehicle without the intent to sell it as advertised.
