New rules for Maryland forestry licenses

Beginning October 1, 2026, you must have at least 2 years of forestry experience that shows you can practice. Your 4-year forestry degree must be from a Board-approved and accredited school. The Board can also accept an equivalent education, including a comparable graduate degree or an international degree. The Maryland Board of Foresters decides whether your education and experience meet the standard.
