More time to fix pension transfers

The State Retirement Agency runs a stakeholder workgroup on moving service between State and local pensions. The group studies transfer rules and makes recommendations to improve the process. The report, including any needed laws, is due by October 1, 2026. The Agency sends it to the Governor and to the Senate Budget and Taxation, House Appropriations, and Joint Committee on Pensions.

Workgroup law runs through June 2027

Chapter 768 takes effect June 1, 2025 and stays in force until June 30, 2027. A parallel chapter takes effect June 1, 2026 and also ends June 30, 2027. After June 30, 2027, these provisions stop unless renewed.
