Woodland fund gets up to $200K

Beginning July 2, 2026, the law creates the Mel Noland Woodland Incentives and Fellowship Fund in the Department of Natural Resources. The Fund can only pay for the Woodland Incentives Program (including cost‑share help) and the Mel Noland Fellowship Program. The state credits up to $200,000 each year from the tax on deeds that transfer parcels that are entirely woodland. By September 30 each year, the Department reports how the money was used, how much tax money came in, and any uncertainties and fixes.
